Book Review (#2) : Beautiful Disaster

SUMMARY:

Review:

OMG....This book is reeeaaally good and so addictive.I just love it.

Abby is a good girl who doesn't drink anymore and stays away from gambling which had a really destroying effect on her life but now she moving on. Abby meets Travis,the bad guy covered in tattoos, in college and the latter is captivated by her as she is resistant to his charms unlike other girls. Travis fights in order to pay his bills and get through college. He is a womanizer, he gambles..he fights..the exact type of guy that Abby needs to avoid.

Abby is completely different from Travis but they cannot deny the attraction that they have for each other.

“I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn’t something about you at all. It was just you.” 

Even though Abby is resistant to Travis' charms, she starts falling for him when she loses a bet and has to stay with Travis for 1 month.They were friends but the line between friendship and love starts to blur. They face many difficulties in their relationship. Travis is really protective of Abby. ( You won't believe the extent to which he can go to keep guys away from Abby.. the way he kept guys away from Abby on the dance floor made me fall in love with Travis even more)

“And to girls that break your heart,” he bowed his head to me. His eyes lost focus. “And to the absolute fucking horror of losing your best friend because you were stupid enough to fall in love with her.”

These difficulties did not discouraged them, they really loved each other...they found true love. They are so freaking in love with each other.

Prepare yourself to fall in love with Travis Maddox (the tough guy covered in tattoos..bad guy but very charming)....

Book Review #3: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

So as I am in my "Throne of Glass" mood right now I figured that you'd like to know what I thought about the first novel in this amazing and epic series, Throne of Glass.

My Review:

How I hate myself. I really do. I hate myself for not starting this series earlier. *mental slap* ouch! That hurts.

Throne of Glass is a marvellous novel, an epic fantasy book with fantastic characters and an intriguing and wonderful plot.

“Libraries were full of ideas–perhaps the most dangerous and powerful of all weapons.” 

 I really loved that book, and I regret the fact that I've started the book last year but actually never finished it. The main protagonist is actually a really kick ass one, and I love how she's girly, all the while being a dangerous assassin. Though I'm not really a fan of love triangles, I really liked this one, even if I was super happy when it was over.

“How long was I asleep?" she whispered. He didn't respond. 
"How long was I asleep?" she asked again, and noticed a hint of red in his cheeks. 
"You were asleep, too?" 
"Until you began drooling on my shoulder.”

 “In the garden, the Captain of the Guard stared up at the young woman's balcony, watching as she waltzed alone, lost in her dreams. But he knew her thoughts weren't of him.

She stopped and stared upward. Even from a distance, he could see the blush upon her cheeks. She seemed young—no, new. It made his chest ache. 

Still, he watched, watched until she sighed and went inside. She never bothered to look below.”

 The setting is absolutely stunning and beautiful (from what I've read-seriously, a glass castle? How cool (and weird) would that be?). Now I really want to live in one. (That one's for you, Father Christmas. Please do your job.)

Without any second thought, Throne of Glass is one of my favourite reads of 2014, and I really want to read the sequel (I'm actually planning on ordering it-such epicness needs to be read when having the physical copy, not on my crappy little mobile phone).

P.S: as from chapter 48 - more like the end of chapter 47, i.e. the duel, I thought about one song that could fit in that particular moment, and that is "Fire Nation" by Two Steps From Hell. Guys, this is a need. Seriously.

Book Review #2: Alice in wonderland and Through The Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll

I'm sorry the blog went silent for practically a week, but we were both very busy. And as for me, my week was a busy reading week. I just finished The Assassin's Blade and Crown of Midnight, and they were both amazing. And while revising my review, I thought you would like to know about another book I just read... which is Alice. And it was not in a rather normal and not-exciting copy, oh no!

Oh yes people! A nice, manga-style book! Booyah :)

Now with the actual review...

Lewis Carroll's beloved and witty story was made into an animated film by Disney in 1951. It is also the inspiration for Tim Burton's 2010 film where an adult Alice returns to the peculiar world she discovered as a child. The film features Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway among a cast of British stars.

That. Was. Completely. INSANE!

Well, this book for sure was not like the shortened versions I've read at all! I really enjoyed it, and at times it was hard to believe that everything did happen to that little 7 years old!

I won't lie; I laughed a lot, and maybe more than I should have. The plot was so intriguing and senseless at times but it was very enjoyable!

What I think made me appreciate the book more is the fact that I've bought this gorgeous edition, which contained a lot of manga-styled illustrations.

As for Alice, she sure is a very curious and talkative girl, but I really like how she reflected little 7 years old girls (I could easily see myself or my little sister in her).

I don't regret reading this book when I was supposed to read something else, but hey, you can't really blame me... I'm on holiday! *dances like crazy*

Book Review: UGLY LOVE by Colleen Hoover

 This is the first review that I'm writing.... I hope that you'll like it....


Summary of the book:

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

A must-read....
 This book is definitely for all the romantic book lovers... I just love this book and can't get over it... 

Ugly Love is beautiful and romantic but at the same time very heart breaking / soul crushing. It's not like the other books of Colleen Hoover ( favorite author), this one has a unique story line. Expect the unexpected.


The story is written from both Tate and Miles POV which makes the book more interesting. This book made my heart ache so much while reading it. This story feels so real. I can't describe the emotions I've had while reading Ugly Love.

When Tate moves in with her brother, Corbin, she doesn't expect to meet such a good-looking/sexy/attractive man (Miles) who is a pilot just like her brother.

 The situation that Miles was in when Tate first saw him has created a not so good impression of him but Tate did not take much time to discover that there was a something that Miles was hiding from everybody - something really sad and heartbreaking.

They are both very attracted to each other but Tate doesn't have time for love and he doesn't want love so, that just leaves the sex. They both have a "no strings attached" arrangement. 

“I’m attracted to you, Tate,” he says, his voice low. “I want you, but I want you without any of that other stuff.” 

In order for this to work, Miles has two rules for Tate :

“Don’t ask about my past,” he says firmly.

  “And never expect a future.”  

The more time they spent together, the more complicated things became. Miles has already seen the ugly side of love and he doesn't want to do anything with love again but Tate can't really stick to the rules and start falling for Miles. The feelings that Tate have for Miles makes it difficult for her to abide by his rules, so, Tate has one rule for Miles. 

Even the rules can't keep the from falling in love with each other but the dark past of Miles may prevent him to love Tate.

“If I were capable of loving someone . . . it would be you.” 

[I cried so much when I found out the secret that Miles was hiding from everybody]

Not something I was expecting.

This book is definitely my favorite . I've read Colleen Hoover's books but this one is the best.

I think this guy will be playing the role of Miles in Ugly Love. He's so sexy... ;)

My Review:

Wow. That was actually pretty good!

Now don't judge me. I've bought this book about two years ago because of that amazing cover, but never actually was interested to read it. Well, I was so wrong!

First I had mixed feelings before starting this one because I did not really know what I was waiting for, which was kind of weird. But as the story progresses it drags you in until you want to know more. This was really a very original novel due to the fact that it deals with trolls, which is, at first when you think of it, really weird. But the way the author weaves the story makes you actually forget that they are supposed to be ugly goat-eating creatures. It really was a breath of fresh air.

As for Wendy, the main protagonist, I have mixed feelings about her. In the beginning, she looks like a strong, independent girl who's afraid of nothing. But as the story progresses, you see that, she's not really like that. She looks lost, freaked out, and wants to cry a lot of times. Even if I sympathises with her at multiple times, sometimes I was really mad. Get a grip, girl! Why do you make yourself look so helpless?

And with that ending, I don't really know where the story will head. But a thing for sure, Hocking has got a new fan! Can't wait to read Torn!
